What kind of leadership does the world need now?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 30, 2008:
The world needs leaders who obtain their position(s) out of talent and experience. Of course, the way people are put in leadership positions now is if they know people. That's not right. You get people like George Bush and Raul Castro in power and they don't know a damn thing about leading.
A leader should do serve his people, not the other way around. If there is a problem, he/she should fix it. More importantly, he/she should try every possible method before going off to war or some other extreme. I mean, I can understand how a leader shouldn't have to explain his/her every action. Then they would spend their whole lives explaining to people. But for some things, explanations ARE required.
Take a look at Hitler. Sure he was a terrible man who did horrible things and wasn't very nice either. Pretty much everybody in the world looks at his pictures and says, eww gross. But take all of that away and then look at the picture. He was a hell of a leader. He led Germany with surety that he was doing well and the people were behind him. And they were. I don't support what he did or what his followers did. I'm not trying to justify it or anything like that either. It was wrong. But the man himself was a leader that made an impression on the world with his leadership skills. What the worlds' countries need now are leaders who can lead like Hitler did. They just need to lead to better things of course.

i agree, the leader needs to be quite the wise and smart guy, he gotta knows the psicologic of things as well as logic, the leader must know what to do to cheer things up, to plan things well, to be creative, and well, a leader gotta be quite the avatar. Truly, hitler was definitly a great leader, another one was mao-tse-tung, he managed to massacre millions of people in name of his interests and hide it all from them, and even put the fault on his subordinates, he was a very clever politic, altough mad hehehe.
Exactly. You hit the nail on the head Asha'man. If the world followed those procedures, we wouldn't have an idiot for a president right now.
